Find the Flicker

One flickering light is often a loose bulb or a bad dimmer. So start there. Tighten the bulb or try a new one.
However, if many lights flicker, or lights dim when the AC kicks on, the cause is bigger. It could be a loose wire, an overloaded circuit or a problem with your service. Those need an electrician.
Common causes:
⚡ Loose or failing bulb
⚡ LED bulb on a dimmer that doesn’t match
⚡ Loose wire at a switch or fixture
⚡ Too much load on one circuit
⚡ Loose connection at the panel or meter

Quick Answers
⚡ Are flickering lights dangerous?
They can be. A loose wire can get hot and cause a fire. If many lights flicker, or you smell burning, call right away.
⚡ Why do my LED lights flicker on a dimmer?
Many old dimmers are not made for LEDs. An LED-rated dimmer usually fixes the flicker.
⚡ Why do lights dim when my AC turns on?
A short dip is normal. However, a big or long dip can mean a weak connection or an old panel.

“Took Brandon less then an hour to solve a problem that three other techs couldn’t solve for in my home. Have some other big home projects that I’ll be using Voltex on in the future. Incredible work and service.”
