Is Your Wiring Past Its Prime?

Wiring does not last forever. Older homes may have wire types that were fine back then. However, they were not made for today’s loads.
You don’t always need to rewire the whole house. Sometimes we fix the worst parts first. So start with an inspection, then plan the work room by room.
Signs of old or unsafe wiring:
⚡ Knob and tube wiring (common before 1950)
⚡ Aluminum branch wiring (common in the 1960s–70s)
⚡ 2-prong outlets with no ground
⚡ Cloth-covered or brittle wires
⚡ Outlets or switches that feel warm
⚡ Frequent trips or flickering lights

Quick Answers
⚡ Is knob and tube wiring safe?
It was fine when new. However, it has no ground and the coating gets brittle with age. Many insurers won’t cover it.
⚡ Can aluminum wiring be fixed without rewiring?
Sometimes. Special connectors can make the joints safer. We check your wiring and tell you the best option.
⚡ Can I just swap 2-prong outlets for 3-prong ones?
Not without a ground. A GFCI outlet is a safe, code-approved fix in many cases.
